As part of our growth, we are currently seeking a Cost Estimator to join our office in Gurgaon, India.

Role & responsibilities

• Prepare cost estimates for conceptual, basic, and detailed engineering projects (CAPEX and OPEX).
• Analyze technical scopes, drawings, specifications, data sheets, and project documentation.
• Develop budgets, quotations, and technical-commercial proposals for tenders.
• Create cost breakdown structures (WBS) by discipline: civil, mechanical, piping, electrical, instrumentation, and process.
• Estimate costs for materials, equipment, labor, subcontracts, and specialized services.
• Coordinate with engineering, procurement, construction, and planning teams to validate assumptions and scopes.
• Request and analyze quotations from vendors and subcontractors.
• Identify risks, contingencies, and cost optimization opportunities.
• Perform comparative analyses between budgeted, estimated, and actual costs.
• Maintain historical cost databases and industry benchmarks.
• Ensure compliance with Oil & Gas industry codes, standards, and best practices.
• Participate in internal reviews and present estimates to clients or management.

Preferred candidate profile

• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a cost estimator in Oil & Gas, energy, or related industries.
• Experience in EPC projects, both brownfield and greenfield.
• Knowledge of cost estimating during FEED, basic, and detailed engineering phases.

Technical Skills

• Cost estimating methodologies (Class V to Class I AACE).
• Interpretation of drawings, P&IDs, layouts, isometrics, and bills of materials.
• Construction, installation, commissioning, and start-up cost knowledge.
• Proficiency with estimating and planning software (e.g., Aspen Capital Cost Estimator, Cleopatra, Primavera, advanced Excel).
• Knowledge of contracts, commercial terms, and tendering conditions.
• Familiarity with applicable codes and standards (API, ASME, ANSI, IEC, etc.).
